Berry Professor Speaks at State Museum Exhibit

The One Health exhibit titled “Interconnected” recently opened at the Georgia Southern Museum to showcase the collaboration of human, environmental and planetary health.

The event’s keynote speaker, Berry College Biology Professor Bruce Conn represented Berry's One Health Center. Conn specializes in invertebrate zoology, the great neglected diseases, and entomology. He touched on applicable principles of the One Health model, including the implementation of pesticides and antibiotics. Different sectors of health leadership were advised on navigating the landscape of agriculture and medicine alike.

The One Health initiative was created to raise awareness within the community. The Institute of Health Logistics and Analytics partnered with the museum to emphasize the interdependence of each environmental factor. The museum features research performed by students. Their efforts paired with professional expertise resulted in a successful showcase.

There are various videos presented on iPads throughout the exhibit. Guests can engage with interactive activity stations and utilize a personal journal dedicated to the principles of One Health. The exhibit is open through January 2026.
