Berry College hosts national forensics tournament and wins awards

Berry College recently hosted the Novice National Forensics Association National Tournament and won nine awards.

The tournament is an annual speech competition for first-year forensics students. This year, the Berry College Forensics Union sent six students to compete. The team earned various awards in different categories, including 2nd place sweepstakes in Division One.

The following students earned awards:

    • Amanda Hartnett, of Beaverton, Ore., National Champion (Public Narrative), 4th place (Informative Speaking), 6th place (Persuasive Speaking)
    • Princess Anderson, of Jonesboro, Ga., 3rd place (Dramatic Interpretation)
    • Charlie Pakluck, of Dallas, Ga., 3rd place (Public Narrative)
    • Kaili Phillips, of Woodstock, Ga., 4th place (Public Narrative)
    • Jordan Barden, of Powder Springs, Ga., 5th place (Informative Speaking)
    • Tinsley Godfrey-Cargile, of Savannah, Ga., 6th place (Public Narrative)
