Local speakers will talk about agriculture as a solution to food inaccessibility at 6 p.m. Monday, March 3 at Berry College.
The event at Evans Hall Auditorium is free and open to the public.
Local experts in farming, food banks and community gardens will participate in a panel to provide valuable insight and advocate for change. A team of Berry Bonner Scholarship students coordinated the lecture. The students have collaborated with Davies Shelter Farm to assist with field planting and the installation of a greenhouse for year-round flourishment. The Davies Shelter in Floyd County provides services to people experiencing homelessness. The shelter runs a two-acre urban farm that cultivates produce sold and distributed by their mobile farmer’s market. The Bonner Scholarship Program supports committed students with financial need and develops future community leaders.
