Not only was recent Berry graduate Denice Aleman accepted to veterinary school – she had to choose between three prestigious programs.
Denice chose to attend Berry College because of the work program and the high number of students who are accepted into veterinary school. She graduated in May magna cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in animal science and a chemistry minor.
During her time at Berry, Denice worked as the assistant calf vaccinations manager on campus and at Mount Berry Animal Hospital through the community/industry work program. She also was involved with Berry’s Block and Bride club, pre-vet club, and emerging leaders.
“I feel what best prepared me for my acceptance into vet school is my array of animal experience I gathered throughout high school and college,” Denice said. “I was able to get an array of small, large, and exotic animal exposure for vet school.”
After graduating, Denice was accepted to Mississippi State University, Auburn University, and the University of Florida. She is now a Gator!
